Biostimulant Application under Different Nitrogen Fertilization Levels: Assessment of Yield, Leaf Quality, and Nitrogen Metabolism of Tunnel-Grown Lettuce

Promising strategies that could aid a shift from N-intensive agriculture to an eco-friendlier approach include the integrated use of plant-based biostimulants. To date, results about accumulation nitrate in green leafy vegetables due biostimulant application are conflicting. Therefore, current study aimed at assessing effect new biostimulant, containing triacontanol (TRIA), is claimed reduce leaves, based on yield and leaf quality lettuce grown plastic tunnel under different N conditions. The experimental design was factorial combination three nitrogen fertilization levels (N0, N30, N60, corresponding 0, 30, 60 kg ha?1) two applications (treated with ‘ILSASTIM+’ = YB untreated control NB). Nitrogen resulted 40% increase over N0. Biostimulant increased 21% NB, both improved all growth parameters. In addition, had positive color Soil Plant Analysis development (SPAD) index, thus enhancing qualitative aspect. Interestingly, boosted efficiency 23% plants. proved be suitable applied sustainable strategy production improvement.
